“My child is joining high school this year. I fear taking her to boarding school due to the timing of the HIV drug treatment”. This is one of the many challenges caregivers of children and adolescents living with HIV face. We applaud caregivers for their dedication and we recognize the need to better support them in this role. 200 caregivers recently participated in a Caregiver Training we held in four Kisumu subcounties. The interactive forum focused on improving knowledge and ability to support treatment adherence and viral load suppression, how to mitigate stigma and discrimination, strengthen disclosure, and negotiate challenging situations. “With this training I feel empowered and equipped to help the child”.
